4th of July

We made it home a while ago from our long day in town, which turned out to be over 12 hours. The dog greeted us with growls and barks. I'm sure he thought he had been forsaken. I see NO sign of his dingo bone so he must have chewed/eaten the whole thing.

Our day started in town at noon where we signed up for nickels and got an ice cream cone (Marvin tradition.) At one came the races. There are running races, three-legged races, and potato sack races for different age groups, and you get quarters for participating. The parade was at four, the paper plate drop at five (taped to paper plates thrown from a plane are coupons etc. from different businesses,) and after that Mike was a participant in sampling chili. There's a chili cook off so he enjoyed that for supper along with probably 36 oz. of Pepsi while the rest of us ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (ahem...candy from the parade) :) and mandarin oranges. The lighted boat parade was next and then the fireworks. Tracy will be blogging and putting lots of pictures so be sure to check out her blog within the next few days.

Sounds like you all had a great time, boy was it hot there as it is here?
Today it is suppose to be even warmer.

It WAS hot, but we had the advantage of being down by the lake where there was a WONDERFUL breeze!!! :)

Is the (sp?) Pequona Playhouse Theater coming your way soon, and what are they doing?
