"Christmas" Dresses

I sewed a lot of dresses for Christmas time this year. The three girls along with the three girl cousins on my side got dresses like this. (Well, if you count the baby's. We were not expecting a girl and didn't really have enough material so I had to piece something together.) Emily does not like her dress though so I'll probably cut it apart and make the baby a new one when she gets a little bigger so she can match her sisters.

I also sewed a purple "Tinkerbell" dress for the cousin on Mike's side, but I don't know if there is a picture of it. She would not try it on; she likes Rapunzel better now. One month goes by quickly for "name-brand" things.

Group Christmas 2009 Picture

Here's a picture of the whole group that got together from my side of the family. I did not edit out the red eyes. :)

Trying Hard

Lots of cousins in Bemidji means lots of different directions for eyes to be facing when trying to get a picture of everyone. We also took a group picture, but I'll have to post that when/if I get a copy.

Rub-a-Dub Dub...

...five girls in the tub. And how do you think they got there? They went from one "pool" to the next. After being in the very chlorinated hot tub at Grandma's house, they needed to be rinsed off.

Ula's Memory Quilt

My mom, Mary, Tracy, and Keren all had a hand in making a memory quilt for Ula out of old clothes that were very special to her. She was able to tell us what each piece of material came from, and the smile of delight in the third picture tells it all...

Pinata

Becky C. and Becky M. made a paper mache pinata for the kids, and it was quite a highlight of the weekend. Each of the children took a turn at giving it a whack to make candy, stickers, pencils, erasers, and other fun things fall out of it.

Once Aaron's turn came, Jeff had to make it a little more difficult for him...

...hmm...no wonder he couldn't give it a good whack! :)

Grandma had to show Bailey and Laura how to whack it. I just love that smile on Bailey's face.

Gingerbread House Fun

Well, the almost-finished product looks quite nice...

...but look how it started!

The girls were having a fun time putting the icing on the house and used their whole hands to get the job done. There was lots of finger licking also. :)

Some Christmas Pictures

Becky M. had the idea to decorate the tree with the bluish and silver theme, which I thought turned out very pretty. It took some work to get the lights strung so they looked nice. I was hoping the kids would have helped more to get the ornaments on, but they were more interested in playing with cousins and running up and down Grandma's steps. A couple more decorating pictures are at the bottom of this post.

Here's Bailey playing with one of the tubs of Legos.

Jeff and Aaron battle it out with a game of Othello.

Someone had to do the work in the kitchen...

...because the main chef was napping with her newest grandson. :)

Now Grandpa gets a turn at holding him.

And Becky C. did a good job of getting him to sleep when he was screaming so much. Here at home Tracy has the touch.

Christmas Gifts

I thought we were done with "Christmas," but the last round of gifts showed up by Fed Ex today. :) Melissa has really been enjoying hers.
