4th of July

We made it home a while ago from our long day in town, which turned out to be over 12 hours. The dog greeted us with growls and barks. I'm sure he thought he had been forsaken. I see NO sign of his dingo bone so he must have chewed/eaten the whole thing.

Our day started in town at noon where we signed up for nickels and got an ice cream cone (Marvin tradition.) At one came the races. There are running races, three-legged races, and potato sack races for different age groups, and you get quarters for participating. The parade was at four, the paper plate drop at five (taped to paper plates thrown from a plane are coupons etc. from different businesses,) and after that Mike was a participant in sampling chili. There's a chili cook off so he enjoyed that for supper along with probably 36 oz. of Pepsi while the rest of us ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (ahem...candy from the parade) :) and mandarin oranges. The lighted boat parade was next and then the fireworks. Tracy will be blogging and putting lots of pictures so be sure to check out her blog within the next few days.

Two Babies!!!

I got to go to Grand Forks today with a friend and see an ultrasound of her twins. One was even moving. It was so special!!!

We also hit some stores on the way home. I'm wiped out though; I came home and took a nap. Mike was trying to get everyone to track so I could sleep, but the dog woke me with his barking.

We'll be in town tomorrow for the 4th of July activities so I bought the Aussie-dog a new Dingo bone. He mangled his last one and then buried the rest in the woods. :)

Baking Day

We baked three loaves of bread, peanut butter cookies, a pan of lasagna, molasses cookies, and chocolate chip cookies.

Baking Day

Here are a few of the creations we baked today. I have plans for making more things, but I'll have to see how the evening goes. So far we have made brownies, coconut bars, American flags (sugar cookies and frosting,) and peanut blossoms. Mike came home from work and said it smelled good in here. Then he walked over and said he had to choose. My guess is between the coconut bars and the peanut blossoms, but I never did see what he grabbed. :)

Aussie-dog

The Aussie-dog can't decide whether he wants in or out. When he's in, he sits at the windows and stares out and once in a while jumps up on the door to go out. When he's out, he turns right around and jumps on the door to be let in, only to go and stare out some more.

Baptism

Tracy was baptized into Christ Sunday, June 29. 2008. I'll link Abbi's and Mike's posts.

Garden

The garden blossomed while we were gone. I pulled out four radishes after we came home, and they were actually the size of radishes, not tiny like the ones I pulled before we left. :) We have two stalks of corn that are the size of Laura's knees, and it's almost the 4th of July. Hee hee hee

The peas are learning to climb the string, and I have replanted a few spaces where the peas and beans didn't come up for one reason or another.

The tomatoes look healthier though I haven't seen any signs of carrots as of yet.
